How Danforth uses AI

The AI helps caregivers write it down right. People make every decision.

Danforth is a documentation system for assisted living, built by people who spent decades doing the work. Its artificial intelligence (AI) helps caregivers put what they saw into clear, accurate words, so they can spend their shifts with residents instead of on paperwork. It never takes the place of the person who knows the resident.

What the AI helps with

Clear, objective wording for notes, drafts of everyday paperwork, and spotting patterns in the chart sooner. Everything it produces is a draft or a suggestion, labeled as AI, for a trained person to read, correct, and approve.

What the AI never decides

  • Whether a resident moves in, stays, or has to move out
  • A resident’s level of care or what they pay
  • A diagnosis, a medication change, or a treatment
  • Hiring, discipline, pay, or anyone’s job

A person’s name goes on every note and every decision.

For residents and families

Starting January 1, 2027, Colorado law gives you rights when AI helps with an important decision about health care, housing, or a job. You can ask the community whether AI was used, for an explanation of a decision that went against you, to correct information about you that is wrong, and for a person to review the decision with you. Please contact the administrator of your community.
